Youth Environmental Leadership Program

The Youth Environmental Leadership Program provides an exciting opportunity for high school students to develop the skills needed to independently investigate and create solutions to environmental issues in their own communities. Students will receive leadership training and hands-on watershed science education in the unique and beautiful Copper River Watershed.

**Please Note:There will not be a Youth Environmental Leadership Program held in 2008. Please check back for information about a 2009 program**

During this 10 day leadership program, which includes a 5 day rafting trip down the Copper River guided by Alaska River Expeditions, participants will undertake an adventurous study of the watershed and its rich natural and human history. They will investigate environmental issues of concern to watershed communities, with a special focus on the impact of human activity and industry on the health of watershed ecosystems. This program will give students a variety of outdoor experiences and will provide students an opportunity to develop as leaders and members of a community that can make a positive difference.
