The Prince William Sound Science Center, an independent research and education institution located in Cordova, Alaska, will celebrate National EE Week 2007 by coordinating a litter collection and art project to raise awareness about marine debris in Cordova. Trash will be converted into art pieces that will be displayed at the local Earth Day Festival on April 21st. Attendees will vote on the best art piece and small cash prizes will be awarded. PWSSC will also host classroom presentations about the origin of marine debris and its effect on marine ecosystems. Take a look at the Prince William Sound Science Center website for more information on their current work.
