Did you know that a tiny Western Sandpiper can fly 2000 miles in just 3 days? Flocks of tens of thousands stop to feed on the mud flats near Cordova each May. PWSSC researcher Dr. Mary Anne Bishop has been listening for radio tagged sandpipers each May since the mid 1990’s.
